Nothing here is imported. Every piece is made by hand, and yours starts being built the day you order it.

Why it takes weeks

Because there is no warehouse with your bedside table sitting in it. When you order, we choose the timber, cut it, join it, sand it and finish it. Three to five weeks later, delivery included, it is in your home.

We could hold stock and ship in 48 hours. But then we would have to build in batches, buy cheap board and guess which colours might sell. We prefer the other way: every piece made for someone in particular.

The right material in the right place

We don't use one material for everything. We use whichever one suits each part of the piece — and we tell you exactly which, on every product page.

Solid wood — oak or pine, real boards finger-jointed together — is irreplaceable where the piece has to carry weight, take knocks and still be standing in twenty years. You feel it when you lift the piece, when you pull a drawer, and above all over time: solid wood can be sanded back and looks new again.

MDF is compressed wood fibre, made largely from the offcuts sawmills would otherwise burn. It is the correct material where something has to be lacquered, and on some pieces for the body too, when the shape or the finish calls for it.

And we always say which

This is what actually matters: every product page lists what each part is made of. Frame, fronts, legs. No small print and no vague "wood".

Some of our pieces are entirely solid wood with nothing lacquered — BRUMA, AURA and SAVIA. Others combine a solid frame with lacquered fronts. And there will be pieces where MDF carries more of the design, because the design asks for it. None of the three is worse than the others: they are different answers to different problems.

What you won't find here is a piece of furniture sold as something it isn't.

Why lacquered fronts aren't solid wood

It's the question we get asked most, and the answer is technical, not financial.

A lacquered solid wood front would eventually telegraph the grain through the paint and crack as temperatures change, because solid wood moves — it swells and shrinks with the humidity of the year. MDF doesn't move, and that is why it holds a flat, even lacquer for years.

Made in Spain

No containers crossing an ocean, no middlemen, and no warehouse full of furniture nobody may ever buy. We build what is sold, here, with timber from suppliers close by.

It is slower and it isn't cheaper. But it is what we know how to do and what we enjoy doing.
